Two Short Writings
Process
I grab a big dictionary and some extra thick paper. In an extra wet pen I write down each word that sticks to my skull. I then chew the paper at a time that I choose. Then I swallow the paper. Then I sleep on any couch for no more than three hours and no less than one. At some point a bird flies through a window and probably spits in my mouth. When I wake I taste acrid things and I hack up something shiny.
Story With a Song
We sat by the fire, all of us ourselves. It was too warm for September so we thought worried thoughts but shared comfortable words. Something was passed around to smoke. Someone picked up a guitar. They held it in their lap and sang a sad song. We looked up to look at the stars and the fire was hot and the air was warm and the night was dark. That was all.
